(2020, RISE) WI-HER, with prime partner Martsel Day, was recently awarded USAID’s RISE Challenge Grant. This year, USAID selected five teams as winners of their challenge grants program, “Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments (RISE)”. The Martsel Day / Wi-HER project is titled “Gender-based Violence (GBV) and REDD+ in Fiji: Tackling Resource Conflict and Addressing Gender-based Risk in the Environment.” The goals of the project is to integrate gender equity and gender mainstreaming into the Feedback Grievances and Redress Mechanism (FGRM), designed by Martsel Day, into the World Bank’s REDD+ readiness project.
RISE funding, Marstel Day and its partners, will use WI-HER’s iDARE, a proven gender integration approach, to enhance the FGRM processes and procedures to better address gender-risk and GBV.
