Addressing the Needs of Men, Women, Boys and Girls in HIV and ART Services

This technical brief is designed to provide a quick reference for improvement specialists, clinicians, health workers and implementing partners working in HIV and ART services. It highlights three key gender issues: lower utilization and retention in HIV services among men; vulnerabilities and challenges for women and girls; and risk of gender-based violence associated with status and testing. The brief provides evidence-based actions for addressing these issues and key resources to use in care. Links to additional resources are provided at the end of the document.
